Common questions

  • Is a home facial as effective as a spa facial? Effectiveness depends on the therapist's skill and the products used rather than the location. A good mobile therapist can deliver a thorough facial at home, though some very specialised machine-based treatments need a clinic.
  • Do home barbers bring their own equipment? Almost always, yes. Professional barbers bring clippers, trimmers, scissors, a cape and often a portable chair or stool. It is still worth confirming, and asking whether they need anything from you, such as a sturdy kitchen chair.
  • Is a mobile hairdresser more expensive than a salon? Sometimes, but not always. You are paying partly for convenience and one-to-one time, so the per-visit cost can be higher than a busy salon. Many people find it balances out once travel costs, parking and time away from home are taken into account.
  • Is a mobile massage more expensive than a spa? Often it is comparable or slightly higher per hour, but you save on travel, parking and waiting. You also get one-to-one time in your own space, with no shared facilities.
  • Is it rude not to tip a mobile hairdresser? No. Tipping is a bonus, not a requirement. Many professionals price their service to cover their time and expenses, and they will not take offence if you do not leave a tip.
  • Why is a mobile colour appointment priced per length? Because product use and time increase with length and thickness. A short crop needs far less colour and processing time than waist-length hair, so a flat price would be unfair to one customer or the other.
